Captain Cooks Cottage
Captain Cooks Cottage Wellington Parade, East Melbourne. Victoria. Ph: (03) 94194677 Situated in the prestigious Fitzroy gardens is this Cottage, a very popular Melbourne Attraction. This Cottage was originally built in Great Ayton, North Yorkshire, England. The Cottage was up for sale and so some prominent Victorians bought the Cottage at that time. They then dismantled the cottage and brought it to Melbourne where it was reconstructed to its original state.

Usually there is a small admission fee to the cottage, but its well worth it. Adjoining the cottage in the gardens is a conservatory where they grow various flowers & ferns and is a good place to take photos. I’ve often seen Wedding photographs being taken here as well. Opening hours: Monday to Sunday 9am to 5pm. closed on Christmas day. Entry: Adult - $4.50; Child - $2.20; Family - $12; Pensioner, student or concession - $2.70. How to get there: Catch tram 48 or 75 from Flinders street, going on Wellington Parade towards Richmond. Get down at tram stop no. 9 & walk down to the cottage & gardens.
