Chelsea Beach - Melbourne City Guide

Chelsea Beach is a safe & popular beach during summers. It is located in the Southern suburb of Chelsea in Melbourne and is about 200-250 meters towards the west side of the Chelsea railway station. This Melbourne Beach is more than a kilometer long and is situated between the suburbs of Edithvale & Bonbeach.

The beach is well connected by roads, trains & buses. It is opposite to the Chelsea Railway station on the Frankston train line. If you're going by train from Melbourne City, after your get down at the station just cross the Nepean Highway and you get right on the Chelsea shopping area which lead you to the beach. They are in the process of building a brand new Shopping Mall here which is under construction and will open soon with Safeway being one of the major retailers and other speciality shops. There is a huge car park behind the Shopping area and another one near the fore shore.

The Beach is home to the Chelsea Life Saving Club and the Chelsea Yatch Club. There is a also pier which is located to the south side of the Life Saving Club and since the water is shallow over here, a note of precaution - do not jump off the pier to swim!......it makes for a great fishing spot though and the views are incredible.

The Chelsea Beach bbq area is right next to the main shopping strip with excellent Picnic Facilities, a Children's playground area & Victoria Park.
