Ph: (03) 96578888 Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is a Sports Stadium where they have all sorts of sporting events such as the Australian Football League (AFL), Cricket, Soccer, and Rugby, 1958 Olympics, 2006 Commonwealth Games and entertainment programs such as Rock Concerts. If you’re a cricket fan, this is Mecca for you as there are guided tours which take you through the various parts of this historic ground. MCG tours happen on non event day from 10am to 3pm. The tour features The Ponsford Stand, Coaches' box, Players' change rooms (subject to availability), Cricket viewing room, Long Room, Cricket Victoria Bill Lawry Centre, MCC Library, A walk on the arena (subject to availability). A combined package of the National Sports Museum is worth it as there are all sorts of memorabilia from yester years such as team photos, signed cricket bats, trophies etc. Opening hours: 10am to 5pm Entry:

Backpacker offer - Free entry to National Sports Museum with the purchase of the MCG tour How to get there: The easiest way to get here is to catch a train from Flinders street to Jolimont or Richmond stations & then walk down. The other way of getting there is by catching tram 48, 75 from Flinders Street and get down on the corner of Wellington parade & Powlett Street, East Melbourne. And then a short walk to the hallowed ground on Wellington road going down south.
