Melbourne Victory Football Club is a Professional Australian A-League Soccer Club which is also called "MELBOURNE VICTORY". They are based in Melbourne and have been one of the most successful club here. Whenever they play, they draw huge crowds and they have a massive following of ardent fans. This Australian Soccer team has won four major domestic titles. They are also the only club to have completed the Premiership-Championship two times in a row during the seasons of 2006-2007 and 2008-2009. The other major achievements for this A-League Soccer Club is that they are the only club to complete the Challenge Cup.

A-League is actually the Australasian Domestic Football (Soccer) Competition. This is conducted by the Football Federation Australia which is the governing body and was founded in 2004. The League has 10 teams out of which 9 are from Australia and 1 is from New Zealand.

They are known by their nicknames such as 'Victory' & 'Navy Blue'. There have been a few changes in the Kit colours but at present, when the Victory are playing a home game their jersey is navy blue with a white chevron and away games are the opposite colour i.e., the jerseys are white with a navy blue chevron.

The Chairman of the club is Geoff Lord and the head coach is Ernie Merrick. Gary Cole, an ex Socceroo was named to be the Operations Manager of the Club.

Victory were originally based at the Olympic Park during 2005-2006 A-League season. Due to the small number of seating capacity at this ground, the club decided to move to Telstra Dome (now called Etihad Stadium) in the 2006 season. Here they had great success due to the a big jump in the number of spectators. This Football Club in now going to relocate to the new 'Melbourne Rectangular Stadium' as the premise would be able to accommodate up to 50000 spectators with further future renovations.

The major rivals of the club are Sydney FC & Adelaide United, nevertheless Melbourne Victory are the reigning Premieres & Champions due to their success in the 2008-2009 season.
